I'm pretty certain it's not Last of the Summer Wine, Are you being served, or Keeping up appearances.

BBC detective series, recent, nothing to do with Pink Panther - that's as far as I'll go.

I want to say Endeavor but I think that's ITV, It's not Christchurch. Rebus or something like that?

Inspector George Gently - had P5 series II, then III later in the series.

Ruddy hell. As soon as I saw the Rover the only Inspector series I could think of was Morse, Lewis and George Gently but ruled out the first two quickly and then thought George Gently would be too obvious. Doh.

Also, when I said Christchurch but had meant to type Broadchurch.

Oh please - the wrong 'church' used is lost on me. We're cool. But PS - don't blow it when I use Inspector Lynley's cars. Let's keep those quiet.

Cool. I keep meaning to watch Broadchurch but with several of them being from Dr Who I know my mind would keep looking for the alien or monster.

Vera is probably quite an Oppo show with the you know what in it.

There's too many police and detective shows on at the moment with British, American, Canadian and Australian shows all vying for viewers.

Vera ? We don't have it.

And Broadchurch is very good TV. If there's a Dr. Who crossover, I don't see it.

David Tennant is the main character really but several episodes have had actors and actresses from Dr Who and my mind is so used to seeing him in the role of Dr Who it automatically goes there.

Vera. Is Brenda Blethyn as Vera Stanhope which is a detective series based on the novels from Ann Cleeves. It is an ITV series and she drives an old Land Rover.

No worries fella. Other than Scott and Bailey I think it's the only Brit-pol/det series I occasionally watch.

Wallander (Branagh and Swedish original) both excellent; enjoying Inspector Gently now, and of course Morse and Endeavour prequel. So much great stuff out there, yet BBC-A shows us Star Trek NG , Hook, and that crappy Kevin Costner Robin Hood . At least we get Top Gear .

Oh, just realised you were on the other side of the pond.

I used to like A Touch Of Frost with David Jason (still available on ITV.com). I've only seen bits but Grantchester looks quite good with Robson Green set in 1953 England with Robson as the detective and a vicar and always worth watching is New Tricks on BBC, about a small number of retired police officers who work for a police department called UCOS (unsolved crime and open case squad) where they put their knowledge and experience together to solve old cases.

Also worth a watch if you can find it is 'Zen', David Sewell plays an Italian detective called Aurelio Zen. It's only a small number of episodes but it has British humour and wit along with some great plots.

Just looked it's on Youtube with BBC (pay per view).
